The boetcher harness is a very effective harness to use to train dogs to keep their nose down on the ground when tracking.

The loop of the harness goes around the dogs haunches and the lower line runs under the belly, and is clipped to the dog's collar. The boetcher was designed so the tracking line runs under the belly of the dog and pulls the dogs head towards the ground as the dog pulls forward.

You can either 1) clip the leash to the metal ring underneath the dog on the harness. Or 2) clip the leash to the collar and have the leash go through the metal ring underneath the dog.
