How To Measure Your Dog
Find your dog's girth, which is the widest point of your dog's chest and rib cage area. Harness size measurements are based on girth, which can vary according to breed. Some dogs, like Boxers, are more deep-chested than others. It is important to accurately measure your dog's girth for the best size possible.

1) Stand over your dog and place one end of the tape measure on his spine, just above the widest part of his rib cage.

2) With your other hand, wrap the tape measure behind his front legs and around his body, going underneath the widest part of his rib cage. Place this end next to the beginning of the tape. Put your thumb on the number that meets up with the beginning of the tape measure. The higher number is the girth measurement.

3) Order the proper harness size based on your dog's girth measurement. If your dog's measurement falls between two different sizes, order the larger size if want to allow room to grow.

I use this for an on-leash search and rescue trailing dog. She is a Redbone Coonhound x Bloodhound, 13 months, and currently around 70 lbs. I got the large harness, and it's been fantastic. I originally used a different harness, but with a very wiggly, large puppy - it was so hard to get all the buckles done up. This one - I throw it over her head and clip it under her belly - takes 30 seconds and we are good to go. I was a bit concerned about the handle getting caught up in briars and bush, but it doesn't. The handle has turned out to be an asset when I just want her to stand calmly next to me. The velcro patches are great - highly visible and definitely stay in place. All in all, I am very pleased with this harness - it's durablity, ease of use, and price are all excellent.

This harness is high quality and fits our large dog comfortably. Instead of putting stress on her neck it centers the force back to the center of her shoulders and i'm more in control if her. This items workmanship is top notch and delivery was very very fast. 100% satisfied customer.
