Dominant Dog Collar
Dominant dog collars are specifically designed for use on handler aggressive or dog aggressive dogs. These collars are excellent for lowering the drive and taking the fight out of a dog. DO NOT jerk this collar to deliver a correction. The proper way to use the collar is to SLOWLY lift straight up on the collar, until the dog ceases the behavior and settles. Colors vary depending on material available.
IMPORTANT - How to Measure for a Dominant Dog Collar:
The dominant dog collars come in 1 inch increments. Use a string or cloth tape to measure around the dogs neck. Measure around the top of the neck, just under the jaw and around the head right below the ears. The string or cloth tape must be snug (but not tight) to get a proper measurement. There should be no space between the dogs neck and the tape measure or string. Order a collar that is the same length as that measurement. If the measurement falls between two sizes, then round up to the next size.
1) Measure around the top of the dogs neck.
2) The measurement must be snug (no gaps or slack).
3) If the measurement is between two sizes, round up (18 1/2 = 19 inches).
4) Order a 19 inch collar. *If you want slack round up to a larger size accordingly.
5) FYI: laid out flat and with the floating ring all the way to the bottom, a 19 inch collar will measure approx 19 inches from end to end. *See additional image.
If the size you need is not listed, choose "custom" from the drop down list and put the length you want in the custom size box. IMPORTANT you must first choose custom in the drop down list before you enter the size in the custom size box. The minimum recommended size is 13 inches. Do Not enter increments (ie 20.5), round to the next full inch measurement. There are no refunds on custom collars.
A properly fit collar will remain in place and not slide down the dog's neck.
NOTE: A dominant dog collar is not intended to give a sharp correction, it is intended to lower the dog's drive level.
IMPORTANT if you need a custom size, you must first choose custom from the drop down list and then put the length in inches the custom size box.
